Golden hour sessions are my favorite! This fun family session took place last week in Rye, NY at Edith Read Sanctuary and the light was magical as the sun dipped in the sky. After sunset the sky changes to soft pink and blue hues over the Long Island Sound – just stunning! I’ll save those images for another blog post but for now I wanted to talk about how important it is for Moms to be in photos with their kids. Don’t get me wrong, it’s important for Dads to be in them too but Mom is usually the one taking the photos! I was going through this family’s session images this morning and it hit me how few photos I have of me with my 2 when they were young. I hope these are printed BIG and displayed in the family’s home!

 

 

Moms, you are important and when a child sees themselves in a family photograph they say to themselves “These people have me as part of what they are, that’s why I belong here. This is where I come from.” Trust me, they’ll thank you when they’ve flown the nest and have images like these. The weather forecast looks perfect this week and I a few spots available for golden hour sessions so please reach out if you’d like me to capture your family.
