I’ve been meaning to post images from this session for some time and I finally got around to it! Everything about the session was perfect – the location, the colors and the sun setting behind the trees. I love all the images but keep coming back to these (and continue to play around editing them!). These really speak to me and are what I strive to capture in my sessions – families feeling relaxed and comfortable just being themselves and trusting me when I ask them not to look at the camera. Believe me, that’s when the magic happens and we get to capture those genuine expressions, interaction and connection between everyone.

 

 

The icing on the cake was at the end when we were almost out of time and I asked the kids to play while I spent the last few minutes capturing Mom + Dad. I’m so glad I did – just look at those lovebirds!

 

 

I met this fun family during the #frontstepsprojectrye where I photographed 350 local families on their front porches and they kindly paid it forward by donating to local businesses struggling during Covid-19. They went to so much effort and you’ll see one of their special photos at the end of this post to see what I mean! When Mom contacted me to book a family session in the Fall I was so excited and knew it would be something special. They chose a location that means something to them, a place they love to take walks and explore, and I got to fall in love with this spot in our beautiful town!
